How do I get the Tilde ~ symbol in a Dos box ? Everytime I do it, I get | instead. Small problem but very annoying as I can't do what I want. Thanks Jed.

Have you tried enclosing the file name in quotes?

Jed, try using these instructions and enter 0126. To obtain the Character desired turn the Num Lock On and using the KEY PAD Hold Down Alt and Key the Number. Example to get ~ you would key Alt0126... keep the Alt key down while hitting 0126
If that works as it should, you can get the entire character map at http://www.kelseypub.com Hope it works for you. Ed in Texas.

Jed, On my keyboard (and it seems to be generic to others), if you hold down the Control key and then press the key LEFT of the number 1 (one) you should get the Tilde symbol you are looking for.
