The i cons on my computer r missing

My problem is that all the icons on my desktop have gone and been replaced with the msn messenger icons!!
help me please.

You shelliconcache file has probably become too large or been corrupted.Each of 3 following should remedy it.


Right-click on an empty space of your desktop,select properties.Under the settings tab,change the color quality,apply and ok out.Then change it back.

Reboot to safe mode,then reboot back to normal mode.

Do a search of your HDD for shelliconcache.
(It is a hidden file,so in Control Panel/View tab,you must first have "show all hidden files and folders" checked).
Once the file is found,delete it and reboot.Windows will create a new one.
