Reply:

write a batch file (text file but with a .bat not .txt extension) and put

date 16-10-2001

in it, then put it in your startup menu. (can call it what ever you want)

Alternatively you could put that same line in your autoexec.bat file (root directory of C drive ie c:\autoexec.bat)

why you would want to I don't know, but that should do it

Nathan_M... you can't change the autoexec.bat in ME. Do you use ME or are you still on 98?

am using windows 2000 at the moment..its been a while since I used ME

I can do it under 2000 (just tried) so I figure it would work for all the microsoft Operating Systems

just create a batch file (use edit in DOS its the easiest to get the extention right) and create a shortcut to it and put that shortcut in

start->programs->startup

if you can put it in autoexec is just tidier..
