Since I went to Me I don't always have my windows sounds. But I can play them with Windows media player. Other times I boot up with sound. What Gives?

Check under Start, Settings, Control Panel, Sound and Multimedia and under the Sounds tab. Start there and see what your options are, and see what has sounds enabled or disabled. Otherwise I really have no clue.

i have pci128 model 4810/4811 i my o/s is m.e
upgrade since installing a new hercules 3dprophetIImx sound card i get a distortion on sound and crackerling nose when playing some games do i need updated drivers for my soundcard if so were can i find them..Irene
