I want to use System Restore Remover Pro v.1.3 to remove System Restore. At the System Restore Remover tab in the System Restore Remover Pro program there are a few options listed.
Please select the components you wish to remove:
1. System Restore
2. System File Protection
3. PCHealth
and another option that that reads:Remove unnecessary System Restore information on Startup.
Should I pick all the options?

I removed all three...
I had the strange thing that after 2 rebbots, wininit.exe suddenly disappeared (happened on 2 computers). Just unpacked the file again and never had any problems with it anymore. Also my boottime was reduced a lot.

Where do you get this software package, since I have System Suite and it takes a picture of my disk I may want it. Sue

Johan,
I just downloaded the System Restore Remover and used it to remove System Restore, System File Protection, PCHealth and Remove unnecessary System Restore information on Startup.I had the same problem at reboot that you had. wininit.exe was no longer there. How did you unpack the winnit.exe file again?
Also, when I went to reboot, I got this message that winmgmt (or something like it) was not responding. I had to click End Task to close it out. Then the reboot resumed as normal, though I still get the message every time I reboot.

Hi Andy - To unpack "files needed for windows":
start->run->msconfig->click the button for unpacking files (don't know the name in english) ->type wininit.exe ->start->for the first line: C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\INSTALL (click in the line and then press the arrow-down, this path contains installation cab's I think).
second line: c:\windows\ (file save as - destination directory)
->OK and you're done.About the winmgmt-thing, I've been looking for the use of this thing, but I didn't realy find something interesting.
Does that happen each time you reboot, since you used system restore remover?
It can probably be disabled from startup:
start->run->msconfig->startup
It was in my startup after the installation of windows, but I disabled it. It is now disabled for a few days, and I still didn't have a crash (woohoow), so it can be disabled without any worries I think.Johan
P.S. If the unpacking doesn't work, post back and I'll send you the file.
