System Restore not working properly

OS: ME v4.90.3000A Build 3000
CPU/Ram: Intel 1.3 gig/256 Mb

My system restore function is not working properly; it only keeps restore points for 1 or 2 days and doesn't always restore when I use it. It is on, and I have all ME updates. I also have plenty of HD space and good vitual memory. I read some previous posts on a patch for restore, but couldn't find one on the Microsoft site. What is the name of the patch? Are there any other solutions short of a clean OS install? Thanks. Noel

btw, dont forget to check the free space available on u'r windows partition. nothing will help u if it is too little.

Thanks for the reminder. I do have plenty of free space. My windows partition is 7 gigs, only use about 3. Already getting indications that Restore is doing a better job - it's starting to do System Check Points, which it wasn't doing consistently before. Noel
