My computer was working fine, I had installed ME an Norton Systemwork 2000. Yesterday I received Norton Systemwork 2002 and installed them on my computer, everything looks fine, I tried to make an System restore point but the program didn't start "screen stay blank" I un-installed norton and try to re-install ME but after a few minutes system asked for Layout.inf files but I can't find them. (sorry for my bad englisch)
How can I solve this problem without formatting etc.

restart your pc in safemode,
then try the system restore one day before yesterday .
when restored , make a restore point and uninstall nor.2000 and then install 2002.

If you are using NSW2002 you can use the Ghost utility to backup your system. By doing so will eleviate you from having to reformat in the future. It's really good if you have a CD burner. In the meantime follow "redpepper's" advice.
