I have a PC here that I'm supposed to be fixing but I am at a loss. The machine is an IBM NetVista ... one of those buck a day babies. The mobo has integrated video which has bit the dust. The owner of the machine went out and bought an ATI Radeon 7000 vid card and installed it himself. I've switched the display over to PCI in the BIOS, I've disabled the onboard vid in device manager. I have a feeling that this card is what is causing most of the problems. I am trying to find another PCI vid card so I can swap it out to see. I've also been getting the following error in Explorer ... Iexplore has caused an error in MSHTML.DLL. The program will now close. Sometimes I don't get the error ... the machine just reboots. I looked it up on the MS Knowledge Base ... it said to download and install a newer version of IE so I did ... I'm still getting the errors but not as bad as before. One more thing, this is a brand new fresh install of WinME. Any and all help would be appreciated ... I'm tearing my hair out here.
Thanks
MindsEye

Have you downloaded all the critical updates and the patches on the MS Help site for IE6? I was getting a MSHTML error that kept freezing up and shutting down my pc, and then after getting one of the updates or patches not all that long ago - voila! the problem went away. It was a MS-induced glitch that came with a prior patch.

Anyway, can't hurt and doesn't cost anything to try this.
