i have developed a problem lol:

the "system" folder has started opening all by itself every time i re-start or turn on my computer. I have disabled a box in msconfig that had the command "c:\windows\system" but it still didnt fix the problem...any suggestions?

If you had the Download.Trojan virus, you may find there are two boxes in msconfig that you have to uncheck. Also you have to click APPLY-OK (not just OK).

i appreciate all your help but i am still having trouble. I looked at the links (thanks wawadave)but none of them seemed to help. michael2, what are the two boxes that need to be unchecked?

Hi, the two boxes are named the same, (something like system32). I saw it on a neighbours PC a few days ago. The boxes are now unchecked and the PC works OK but these items should not be in there.... So something more needs to be done.

Go to 'pacs-portal' (search for it) here it will tell you what all the items in there are. You may have a bug in the system32 folder it's self that keeps it opening.
