Comment: Is it a good idea to switch from ME to XP if I got a 700 mhz, 64 mb ram, and i got a laptop, or is it just good to leave it with ME?

Reply: (edit)Personally, I'd leave ME installed. Microsoft recommends at least 128MB of RAM to run XP. Best Luck, Bob

Reply: (edit)I wouldn't even go that far. In Windows world I'd stick with ME or 98 with those specs. Not a prayer of running XP and big programs with those specs to any great end user satisfaction. If your gonna be upgrading components in the very near future, that might be a different story. See the iDiOt walk See the idiot TaLkWaLk IdIoT WaLk

Reply: (edit)I ran XP for about a year with a 700Mhz processor and all worked well, although I had 256MB RAM and I wouldn't recommend running XP with anything less. RAM's cheap enough at the moment so if your laptop can taek extra and you have the cash I'd upgrade that, otherwise stick with ME. If your laptop is running really slow on ME, it might be worth formatting and doing a clean install, or trying a prog like Registry Mechanic to clean it up a bit.
