Help! I don't know why, but suddenly when I am trying to print what should be black type it is printing out in red. I have a HP Photosmart 1115 printer. It is now impossible to print in black. Very strange. I printed out a test page and it printed in black but when I printed out a Windows test page it printed in red. I have tried to print word docs which should be black but they are red.

AuntyHoney, when you get ready to print a document, see if there is an option to set font color. That setting will allow you to set a particular color for THAT document. If that one will print in black, chances are good that all you need do is alter your printer so it's default color is black as opposed to red. If, on the other hand, it still insists on red, I'm inclined to think something is wrong with the printer. Since you were able to get a black page, I'm leaning toward a bad command. Take a look at HP's website and see if there's another driver to use. HTH. Ed in Texas.

Thanks Ed. Well I can make it print in black if I choose black only. I put in a new colour cartridge and it is still missing the blue when I do a test page. I think that's what is causing everything to come out red. I know there is blue ink in the cartridge but it is just not printing it. Any ideas about this?

well i dont know if this helps, i have a color printer also, and every once in a while while printing i get a page that is all red, i change the black ink, and it fixs the problem, same for color cartridge, it will print funny colors of one color only and then i change it and it fixs it, if that doesnt help try and click print preview first, and make sure that you are printing the right type documnet, some printer software lets you print docs in image mode

this is driving me crazy! I have bought a new color cartridge - no help. I switched to a second hp photosmart 1115 printer that I have and the same thing is happening. It must be something on my computer. I did a system restore back to Jan 1st, long before this problem started and still no help. I call HP and they say my warranty is expired so no help there either.
