I have just reformatted my computer, reinstalled everything, etc. Before I started, I had noticed that every time I went into the Device Manager, some little program was trying to connect me to the Internet. I feared that it was some sort of Trojan Horse or something.
Now, after reinstallation, I have just completed download of all the essential updates on Windows Update. But this time, I also installed Norton Personal Firewall first, in order to get a better idea about what is going on. It appears to be a program put there by Microsoft (during update?). The executable is called Sucatreg.exe. and it leads to the address crl.microsoft.com, which appears to be a part of the Microsoft Web site.
Can anyone shed any light on what this program does? Why does it attempt to connect to the Internet every time I start Device Manager? It says something about Catalogue registration, or something like that. Please help.

although there are times when people send attachment files viruses that have familar names on them.
this is most likely not one of those times.
this has happened to alot of peopleTheGorx
