I am having a strange problem, not able to open any folders or explorer windows, cannot access any cd's or internet explorer, cd's do autorun also my machine locks up and the only way to get it back is to end task on explorer.exe. Everything else seems to be working fine i have all Me updates and upto date virus definitions done a scan in safe mode and found nothing but am able to access folders. Some access to the net using windows update link or live update!! tried to re/install Me but to no avail

I found this post on the 31/1/2004 it looks like someone else is/was having same problem as me there were no helpful replies :( I am not getting any error messages but am unable to open Windows Explorer or any link that would normally bring up the explorer window. I can still access my harddrive by bringing it up in Internet Explorer and can browse directories in a save dialog window. I cannot explore by right clicking or any other way that would call up a folder in Windows Explorer incl<nobr><a class="iAs" style="border-bottom:darkgreen 1px solid;text-decoration:underline;color:darkgreen;background-color:transparent;" href="#" onclick="return kwC();" target="_blank" oncontextmenu="return false;" onmouseover="kwE(event,73024);" onmouseout="kwL(event);" onmousemove="kwM(73024);">uding th</nobr>e Recycle Bin, Control Panel, My Computer, and My Documents. I can access the start menu and run dialog with no problem. Just no explorer at all. Even directly opening explorer.exe does not give me an error- just nothing happens. I have WIN 2000 Pro installed as a dual boot on a secondary harddrive but it has been on for some time without issue. And I am able to access explorer on that drive and all folders, including the main drive'd directories, from that explorer without isue. Please help, and email if you have any suggestions. Thank you
