Sometime ago, I uninstalled AVG anti-virus software (the free version) from my computer for Norton and decided to go back. I clicked on the AVE exe file and it began to prepare to install True Launch Bar. No kidding!!! I thought I might have the wrong file so I went back to the AVG site and redownloaded AVG. When I tried to install it did the same thing. I don't even know where to begin to correct this! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One other thing. I know it may already be covered somewhere else in this forum. I will search but since I am posting about this now, does anyone know why when I uninstalled Norton my pchealth registry entries were deleted? I can't run Help.
Thanks

hello
goto norton sight and read up on removeing norton and problems enconterd and what to do to fix them.
to get avg to install you might need to clean the remains from your system first

Thanks. That actually helped. I deleted every reference to AVG including those in the registry. Did the same with Norton. Then, went back to the AVG site and downloaded the free version and installed. It worked without a problem. I have to admit also that I used a different browser this time. I used Opera 7 beta before and IE this last time. Don't believe that made a difference but you never know.
Thanks for the help

If HELP is not working, it could be because you ran Reg Cleaner by Tony Arts. It deletes four reqired Registry entries required for HELP and SYSTEM INFORMATION programs to run. If so, they need to be restored.
