Have a H/P 8860, 128 RAM, 60G HD. My portable storage device, "Pockey", is suddenly not being recognized. In Device Manager I have a yellow exclamation icon on Storage Device, USB CD ROM with a code 10 error.
Had created a back up of my hard drive using Drive Image for the first time prior to that. Drive Image partitioned my Drive C and since then I have been having problems with my storage device. Thanks for any responces.

This is a known issue - click the link below for Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q297511
"Q297511 – USB Code 10 Error in Device Manager
Mark

Thanks for the response but this doesn't answer my problem. Am not having problem with the controller and don't have a SIS motherboard. My removable storage device is not being recognized. Again thanks for any further responses.

I have a similar problem with a 1394 network adapter. Try uninstalling the device then run the add new hardware wizard and tell it what to look for. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the device, disconnect it, reboot, shut down the computer, reconnnect the device, turn on the computer and see if windows will recognize it and install it. All this came from the troubleshooter in windows for my code 10 device. It didn't work for me, but maybe it will for you:)

Tried all that you said. I even downloaded the drivers from the manufacturers site after add/remove and reinstalled. Still no luck. I get the code 10 in device manager with exclamation on yellow background. I see a fix that is probably the one Q276602 but even though it is a known problem with MS they want to charge $20 for the fix! I'll hold off for as long as I can then........
