Comment:

After I boot the computer, my desktop comes up, followed by 3 error messages: "stmgr has caused errors in wintrust.dll" (this pops up twice) then followed by "stmgr has caused errors in kernel32.dll" I cannot access the internet, the start menu, no icons show up, nothing, except my background. How do I fix this? Am I able to re-install the OS and still keep my files on my hard drive?

I've already read that thread. It doesn't help me. There's no step-by-step that I can follow that will lead to a successful solution.
