I noticed that my CPU would be running at about 5-9 % until I shut this thing down. (Used Norton System Doctor to monitor) After turning off STIMON - 0%. My Visioneer 8100 USB scanner seems to work fine without STIMON.exe. I was wondering if anyone else noticed the system drain by this thing even when it's not doing anything. Also, why do you suppose my scanner works without it.

i have found that if you eant to use norton utilities, the only way is to do a custom install and only install the following, windoctor, diskdoctor, speeddisk, registry editor and optimizaition wizard. the rest are useless and will slow you down or cause a crash.

We're talking a couple of megabytes in 24 hours! Unfortunately, unlike you, I can't use my camera without it, so I have to start it manually and use ctrl-alt-del to shut it down when I'm finished. Annoying...
