STB TV Tuner - no audio in video capture

Comment:
Greets, I have audio when PLAYING my camcorder through the VisualReality software. However, when I try to capture that video, the sound immediately shuts off and is NOT present in the video when I play it back on my PC. I have a Sound Blaster Live! card. The TV Tuner audio cable is connected to "Auxillary" on the Sound Blaster Live! card. I have tried changing the mixer controls in Control Panel and the mixer in VisualReality. Thus far, nothing has worked. This is my first TV Tuner experience so I must be doing something wrong (hopefully easy). TIA.

TV tuner cards usually have a line out which attaches to your sound card which is either connected to the line in or the mic. You need to go into the volume controls(click the speaker icon next to the clock), optons, properties, recordings, OK. Next put a check mark in the box next to "select" for either line in or mic which ever one you have your TV tuner pluged into.
I have the same problem someone told me go to the website of the sound card maker and update the latest driver or program for that card in your system.I get internet and Windows Me logon sound, but when I try to record from my camcorder no sound great video. Old sound cards need to be update or replace with creative lab sound blaster 5.0 sound card (DVD,Music,VCR,and Round sound speaker hookups the latest top of line sound at compusa or staples. The TV Tuner card is not talking to the sound card because old driver or running Windows 95 not MMX OS need to run Windows ME or Windows 98 Sevice pack B with MMX (multiMedia Extension)it help some of your problem.I think up to date sound card will do the trick it detect other device!

I had the same problem with the TV tuner, it turns out that checking on Digital Output only in Advanced under Volume control fixed it. Hope that helps.
