whenever i startup my computer, it runs into the desktop but no icons or anything show up, just the background of windows, my pointer has the little waiting thingy but it just stalls and keeps it that way, i would have to turn it off manulllay and then statup up again, this problem i would say happens to me once every 5 startups??
sounds like windows explorer is fussy. reload windows on top of the existing windows to correct it kj

First try running a selective startup. go to start/run/ type in msconfig click the startup tab. deselect any nonessential programs. try starting again until you get an acceptable startup. find which program was causing the problem, and reinstall it.
