Dear PC experts, Just encountered the following errors on a friend's personal computer after playing a lot of games on his PC (Pentium 4 with ME installed) After performing a scandisk (did not proper shut down the OS previously, still can't), the "blue screen" appears with the following textbox; VMM(12) + 00001A77 Error:OE:0028:C0280A77 Can some kind souls help to solve this error. and possibly explain why this happens, is it because of playing too many games? I am getting this same error, I wasn't playing any games however. I had several programs up but I didn't actually experience any problems with any of them but when I rebooted suddenly I am getting this error. Since the previous message is 3 weeks old and there hasn't been a response yet I am assuming that it is a strange one that nobody knows anything about. Hopefully I will get lucky and someone will stumble upon these messages who does. Please email me if you know how to cure it, thanks.

I'm having similar problem, only more tricky. I have Windows ME- my desktop wallpaper loads, as do the icons, but before all the programs finish loading or before the icons finish coming up, I get the blue screen with the error messagge VMM(12) + 00004C3C Error: OE : 0028 : C0283C3C. As this error message comes up before I can access my start menu, I can't follow the information above. I have tried starting up in Safe Mode so I can try to at least back up my files, but the mouse doesn't seem to work correctly in this mode. I found that apparently, some file/program labeled msgsrv32 is possibly causing this problem. Please help.

I had the same error in win me.I tried scanregistry and it worked perfect.

Had a customer today with 0e 0028:c0280a77, VMM(12). She is running ME. We tried booting into safe mode but she got another blue screen which stated 0e 0028:c022cd5f, VMM(12). Couldn't find anything on Google about the second one, but we booted up into DOS, went to C:\Windows\Command\ and ran scanreg /restore. System booted up fine!
