need help with a new problem i created . i went to install a cd burner and i hadto disconect the cables and the power pluges when i went back to start up i get nothing ,so i disconected the power and the cable to the cd burner and tried to start up again. no luck i think i put the cables back to the beging and the power plug in i am not sure if p2 to p7 makes any diferancer not.the pc is the hp vectra vli8. any way to fine out the right set would be nice thanks again
Look at the device manager and see if the drive has a red X listed when you expand the listing for it(it may be already expanded with red X) ? This would tell you that you are having a either a hardware or driver problem with this device. To access device manager, right click on My computer ,then click on properties ,then device manager ! Usally the drives are listed first .You can also try remove using device manager ,and upon reboot ,the system may reinstall the hardware for you ? Or course ,the prior advice you recieved on checking all the connections first, would be correct. Then the procedure I just described would be the next step. Good Luck, Nick
