start up problem

when i start up my computer i get "The MSVCP60.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL:__lc_collate_cp. then i goes into safe mode...but shows no icons ...i have used the me bootable disk ..to start up ...says warning problem with registry..use SCANREG to fix the problem but i cannot run scareg says invalid......so can anyone tell me what i can do...thanks

This does seem to to problematic. I don't have a clue. But from reading google searches it might be related to adding new software.

If possible remove recent software.

If possible perform a system restore to undo changes before this problem existed. Windows ME system restore is not the same as restoring the registry.

Like I said, I'm clueless. I don't have any idea what programs you may have installed on your Windows ME computer that might be creating your problem.

Do you have access to "Start" in safe mode?
If so try "system restore" first.
