... My SpyBot software has located some spyware that it can't fix and I can't delete. It also appears that this file is playing havoc with my ScanDisk as I get the message that something is writing to the drive. I tried deleting the file but a message reads it can't be deleted because it's in windows memory. SpyBot lists this spyware as:
TS Cash: 0190 Dialer
c:\windows\sysupd.exeAny ideas on how to get rid of this spyware? Thanks in advance.

If you want to run "ScanDisk" try going into SAFE MODE and then run it. I'm not sure if "Spybot" will run in Safe Mode or not but you can try it. If you want a better chance of being capeable of deleting files, disable "System Restore" by RIGHT clicking "My Computer" on desktop, click "Properties", click "Performance" tab, click "File System" button, click "Troubleshooting" tab, select "Disable System Restore", click "Apply" button, click "OK" button - then restart your computer for new settings to take effect. Note: YES you CAN have "System Restore" disabled while IN safe mode of which I recommend, in which you can now go back and try to accomplish all that you originally attempted to do. (Don't forget to REenable "System Restore" when your done and then to restart computer as well.

I had to format/reinstall my OS when spyware invaded my machine and Adaware could not get rid of it. It was terrible, just like a virus but it's not.
