I am not sure what program installed this spyware......because I just noticed it was loading. Its a nuisance little piece of crap that resets your IE browser settings every time you launch IE. And of course leads you to www.tinybar.com..........which by the way has no identification as to who they are.

Get the freeware program called Startup Cop and look to see whets being loaded on startup. In this case its a file called sp.reg.....which writes entries to your registry every time you boot up. Its the same people that were infecting people with the sp.dll spyware. Yes that’s right the www.tinybar.com idiots.

Do a search in your Windows folder if its being loaded you will find it there. As far as I can tell they have dropped the sp.dll and br.dll routine they were using. Which was a little more difficult to remove without messing up IE. Adaware would remove it.
So with startup cop remove it from loading at startup and then delete the sp.reg file and your free of this little sneaky devil.

Low and behold IE settings are not changing since removing this reg file on startup.

I just hate these freaking people who do this crap........the hackers, wormers etc.

If caught they should be put in jail for 2 to five years.........oh and donate there computers to someone too.

I just picked up this little problem so its a new trick that is still going around.

I just did a google search for tinybar.com and not much info. A lot of the hits are sites giving someones web statistics. There is a "fox counter" associated with it.

There were a couple of hits for cexx.org (an anti-spyware site) but when I clicked on those I got the 404 not found error. I also searched

spywareinfo.com and

http://spyware.newstrove.com

nothing found there either. Where did you get it, or do you know? Maybe it is one of those that sneaks in by Active x controls, like Comet Curser. Are you browser settings secure?

I feel the same way about these slimeballs that perpetuate this stuff!!! Maybe 200 to 500 years in jail would be better.

Did it try to phone home too? Assuming you have a firewall.

Thanks for the warning, it will probably be showing up on the anti spyware sites soon.

Sounds like it's a BHO (Browser Helper Object). If it is, you could use BHO Demon & BHO Captor, get them here, I have :) -

hi undo, suzi, norm, viking,
here's what you can do, a very simple solution for alot of the spyware, adware scum. go to your Tools in I.Explorer and click on internet options, click on security button, go to restricted sites and add www.tinybar.com and anyother offensive piece of crp to the restricted list.Click apply and ok. That should keep them away from your machine.
cheers,
murve
