This message is for those who have been victimized by "COOLWEB", & the many variants that come with it. I just downloaded "Spy-Subtract", & "CW Shredder"... (it comes w/ "S-S"). When I finally scanned, it found 160+ "problem" files, etc. I had futilely attempted to remove this "COOLWEB", etc., but... ONLY-"SPY-SUBTRACT" & "COOL-WEB SHREDDER" removed this junk. Now... I can't say whether I'll be billed after 30-days(?), but I'll gladly pay the price - if any! If any of you --- have this problem, then download "Spy-Subtract & its' "CoolWeb Shredder"!!! i had the same 180 search mess you got. i just saved my programs and then used 2 of the 3 disk that windows me comes with. i know i originally was trying to find an icon for my mother. i was on an icon page of various things and boom computer just filled up with all that garbage. the hardest part was staying on line- then i got into msconfig and shut down everything in start up except system tray. then i have a registry cleaner so i was able to delete the mess from registry. at least you can try this as it kept me on line so i could do things i had to do for work.then when i had the time i used the restore disks and was able to save all my programs. i know its real frustrating to get that 180 search. but keep checking in your search for 180 as it has a lot of sub files and hides.

Over the last 2 years been there - done that in the Virus Killer World. Some quick tips. CW SHREDDER was taken over by SPY-SUBTRACT. So I downloaded the combined CWS+SS programme, found that I got non stop own pop-up ads from Spy Subtract so I deleted it. Spy-Subtract do not like to be deleted so they turned real nasty, I discovered I had 2 or more Spy-Subtract Viruses. mY Computer w open and the same old SS popups kept returning. So I used NEW Microsoft patch to kill them. Snag is the patch wiped out all my Google Favourites list, 200 favs all gone. Please pass the word to keep well away from Spy-Subtract. Microsoft now have a good patch to kill MSIMN. For legal reasons they do not refer to killing MSIMN. The patch is called Exe6***? something. Look up Microsoft new patch - its free and instantly effective brought in because of huge number of MSIMN / COOLSEARCH COMPLAINTS [ Thanks Microsoft] Old tip. Desktop Icon your your fav homepage [mines Google] when you open click on the icon to open it. It leaves MSIMN hidden and buried unopened , but you can now kill it with the patch above.
