I got this message everytime I start up the computer, and I don't recall installing any major program lately. Any chance I can get rid of it?

Usually Spool32.exe errors occur because of some problem with the printer. Have you had any recent problems with it? Have you went to safe mode and has the error appeared there also in startup? If it hasn't then you know if probably a driver issue and its messing with some program. Try trial an error could be a start up problem, maybe one of the VXD files that startup.
Hope this helps.

What is the rest of the error message?
What kind of printer do you have?
I've also seen virii cause spool32 error messages on boot up, but not very often. Still haven't figured out what a virus has to do with the dang printer:p

This is with reference to a new EPSON Stylus Photo 810 which ran well for a while. Subsequently it started to freeze the system on the computer when starting to print and still does it with the occasional unexpected warning referring to "spool32.exe re. illegal op and will shut down". Nothing but re booting will unfreeze the system. I have now connected a HP Deskjet 640 which seems to work OK. I have also Tried the Epson again withot success.
