spool 32 not responding when printing from internet

OS: Windows ME
Internet: ADSL thru Telocity.com connected to the ethernet port.
Printer: HP Deskjet 952C connected to USB port.
Whenever I try to print from the internet, the computer locks up. CNTL+ALT+DELETE shows that spool32 is not responding. I have no problem printing from any other application including e-mail.
Does anybody know what is causing this and how to fix it? HP and Telocity have been no help.

Hey I know there is an printing issue with internet explorer5.5 with the first builds of ME and there is a patch for it... do a search in technet on print and IE and you should find it...

trying changing the print options for a quick fix and print directly to printer instead of spooling it. But Melissa is right there is a problem with Spool32 in ME and in SE and in 98....Also remove any status montiors for your printer if you have nay. I know Epson,Lexmark have these loaded up on startup.
