I am running Windows ME, on an Intel Pentium 733 Machine with 192 Megs Ram, using an Intel Motherboard D815EEA with onboard Creative AudioPCI 128 1373 Soundcard. I am using the Windows Driver Module (Current Versions). The problem is, sometimes my sound card fails to work. Normally the computer fails the first time, but after multiple reboots, sometimes as many as five, the system suddenly seems to work, and I can hear sound. This is really annoying. The Sound Card is always shown as working in Device Manager. I have reinstalled drivers a number of times, but i dont believe this is the problem due to the fact the error is intermitant. If you could assist me, i would be greatful.

Just a thought but is the speaker connection ok? Have you tried jiggling the wires?

I get an error message in a number of programs. If it was the wires, it wouldnt give error messages, would it?
