I have the same problem, only an I/O-error
occured when i tried to install the drivers from the CD.
However, it does´nt matter whether I have them from the CD or the internet. The error still pop up.

I have the same problem with the drivers not loading. I have Win95 and the CD which came with package purchased less than 2 weeks ago. The program seems to load, but the drivers will not load. I contacted Creative Labs tech and after 2 1/2 days received a worthless message. It will be returned Monday.

I keep getting crackling sounds whenever I use more than one program, I didn't have this problem with my soundblaster 16. A lot of people seem to be having problems with this card as far as I can tell from various netdiscussions. I think the card just sucks!

I've got a different problem but have suggestions. For those of you upgrading to the Live 5.1 card, you should make sure that you first remove the card from within the "device manager". Also, what kind of Mainboard? Important to remove all previous drivers as WinMe has driver compatibility problems, as we all should know by now :) It sucks!

B: Shut down and power off. Remove old Card.

C: Restart, scandisk and shut down again.

D: Restart (make sure CDROM is on autodetect. When asked to install drivers or look for drivers, cancel. Install drivers from CD. For the guy with no CD, it's a tough call, but I'd browse to the dir. with the files.

E: As a final point, make sure in your Bios after install, that the card is not sharing IRQ with another memory intensive device.

Good Luck. Me, I don't have duplex chat capability. I can hear but not speak. Any suggestions? MSI K7T266 Pro, winme, 512megs DDO Ram, Allinwonder 32 AGP card. 350w power supply. Also device manager shows soundblaster 16 emulation. Is thin normal?
