Does any1 know if thers a free program that I can check my HD. Whenver I start my computer a smart failure appears at beginning of starting up. Thanx Buddy

Yes, the hard drive manufacturer. That should be your first stop.

Do a 'thorough' scandisk. It should tell you if problems are about to happen or if they are happening now.

Make your Windows ME boot diskette and boot the system with it, then run SCANDISK C: from the boot diskette.
What drive manufacture and model number is you disk drive? Most vendors have a Disk Quality check program that you can download free for their drives that do a better job than any free program. And they can check the Smart Failure LOGS in the drive.
