Bought a secondhand laptop. The previous owner's name appears after Log Off. How do I delete it? I am a single user and don't want to be networked at all. What do I do?

You don't really have the option of "Logging off" a Windows ME machine. What exactly are you trying to do?

The previous owner was networked in some way and there are several references to his name in the system. I wish to remove them all. I have removed the Log Off from the Start menu, but of course he is still in there !

If you've created your own profile under ME, just do a search for the former user's name...both in Find/Search Files and Folders, and in the Registry.
