Help!
Every time i try to shut my computer down, it will just restart itself.....in other word, the only way to shut it off is to un-plug it! WhaT CAN i DO????Thanks,
piz

Could be a lot of things has anything been added since the problem started? If so try removing it. Boot into safe mode and see if it shuts down in safe mode ok. If so a reinstall of windows may be in order. If it does not shut down try stripping the m/b down to just the video card and then see what happens... it could be a expantion card causing the issue

it is your power management setup.. disable it in the bios and the control panel. don't arbitrarily start ripping cards out of the machine as suggested above...geeze.

Hello Piz,
I gues Your problem is very simillar to the problem that I saw some weeks ago, and I hope it is not the same problem as I saw because that never solved, somebody brought a CPU to me and asked me to fix it and said it never shuts down, and I tried 1001 things including reinstalling everything and even partitioning and formating its hard drive but nothing worked, and finaly I suggested that he might have been having some problem in his main board, and that was right because after some days his board totaly stoped funtionaing and he had to change it, But you can still try some of the things that I know if they work for you:-
1:- WHEN YOU TURN YOUR COMPUTER ON GO TO BIOS SETUP AND DISSABLE "Fast Shutdown" THERE AND SAVE AND EXIT SETUP. THAT MIGHT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, IF NOT THEN----->
2:- CLICK ON "Start" BUTTON AND HIT "Run" AND TYPE "msconfig" AND HIT "Ok", NOW IN "General" TAB HIT "Advanece" BUTTON AND IF THE "Fast Shut Down" BOX IS CHECKED AND ENABLED THEN DISSABLE THAT AND HIT "Ok" AND "Ok" AGAIN. I HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU, if Not Please Go get some proffessional help.
Have a nice DAYYYYY......
