Hi,

The message "It is now safe to turn off your computer" has stopped appearing after shutdown and machine switches off while C: drive is still active.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

Some machines shut down automatically. Did you play with some setting in the BIOS. There is usually an option where you can have a self power down. If this is so, nothing is wrong.

No, haven't touched the BIOS settings. It must have been something I downloaded. FWIW, I updated my display drivers last week.

Thanks for the info. Yes, Scandisk runs as if improper shutdown, but not every time.

BTW, got to Step 7 of the troubleshoot. Selected "Logged (\BOOTLOG.TXT)" from the Startup menu but still unable to locate Bootlog.prv file.
