When I go to shutdown my computer sometimes (only 1 in 3 or so) it will go to the blue screen and tell me there is an error and I should hit ctrl alt delete. The error reads:
VDD (01) + 00000CDBERROR:oe:0028:C00A6DE3
Any idea what this is, what is causing it and how I can fix it? Thanks!

Tara D (by bmdiv), I've experienced all manner of shutdown errors in the past. It was also a problem on Windows98 (basis for ME). The most common solution seemed to be connected with an exit sound file.
Another thing (I use) is a freebie program called 'Slawdog' said to work with all versions of Windows. If you want it, get it free at:

VDD (01) + 00000CDBERROR:oe:0028:C00A6DE3would indicate.
"Incompatible, damaged, or conflicting device drivers."

No way to tell for sure, but back level device drivers will cause this type of random shutdown error on Windows ME. If there is a NIC (Ethernet) adapter on the machine you need to get the latest drivers for it (even if you do not use the adapter).
It can also be a problem with the video adapter drivers, or the system board chip set drivers.
Best thing to do is update all of them starting with the NIC drivers, after checking the machine for ADware, Spyware and Virus programs.
