I have just recently upgraded my system from Win98se to Win ME (build 3000)...The problem is, everytime I restart or shutdown from the start button, and it boots back up, it automatically runs scandisk, with a message about an improper shutdown. Why is this happening, and what can I do about it? Thanks in advance for any help!!

Disregard my last message found it.
Go Start, Run. Type: msconfig
Click on Advanced button, check the "disable run scandisk after bad shutdown" (or something like that)

The shutdown problems could be related to a program you have running in the background like a virus scanner....or just about any program. A program called SecCopy was causing this problem on my computer. I had it set to do tasks at shutdown. It was interferring with the normal shutdown process.
Also your power management settings could be incorrect. You might try disabling powermanagement on your mother board and within windows and see if this clears the problem.

Ok so what are the system specs,

If you have read some previous posts you might know that MS have acknowledged a problem on faster PC's
post your specs and I'll dig out the address that I found on the issue, if i can still find it under this mess.................that is..
Anything....Anything with a 933 (i think) or abouts will have a problem, thats why its important to know what system is being run, other wise it could be as in the posts above
