Shut down problems & error message

I had many probs. [freezes, etc.] in beginning, but most have worked themselves out. Now occasionally have shut down prob. Everything fine until screen goes mostly dark, but no "message" & computer does not shut down - have to press Start button. Also what is "Rnaap has caused an error in KERNEL 32.DLL"? It's appeared 3x in last few months.

i too have to press the start button to shut down on occasions. Nothing really to worry about. Make sure you use your system tools and defrag regularly. Re Kernel 32 - use the 'search site' which has lots of info. I had this problem. You might also try downloading Microsoft Windows Kernel core components. Good luck....

I am having the same problem I think. screen goes mostly dark, no shut down your computer now message and fans, etc keep running. have to hold in power button to shut down. I'm not getting an error message though. if you have a solution, please let me know.
