You don't delete those keys. You delete all the values within those keys. The compaq software(or any other keyboard software) will add values to these keys in order to make the "extra buttons" on your keyboard work the way they want them to. Here is a quote from Microsoft's technet guide to the Windows 98 registry about those keys and what they do. As always...
