settings pop 3 not working hotmail account in outlook 5.5

hello
i tried to setup the hotmail account in my outlook and didnt work i can' download the folder. does anybody knows the pop3 settings? it worked once but not more somehow
does someone know the good settings? i like to know, thanks in advance

Go to tools, accounts, click on new, then mail, then type in your hotmail address and it will fill in the POP3 & other server info for you automatically. Then you should get the red hotmail icon on the folder view.

I have a kind of the same problem! Can I setup a non-Hotmail account on Outlook 5.5 or on MS Outlook 2000?If yes then how?

-pop3 is used to recieve mail. -smtp is used to send mail.
I tried several addresses from pop3 address of hotmail (pop.hotmail.com a.k.a wya-pop.hotmail.com, pop.hotmail.cwebmail.com - suggested at some other site). None worked. If you have the latest Outlook Express, then you can download you hotmail mails, since it supports not only POP3,IMAP but also HTTP server. But AFAIK there seems to be no solution with MS Outlook.

I called Microsoft and the tech said it cannot be done in Outlook - any verion. It can be done with Outlook Express version 5 or later. Go to hotmail's web site for instructions.
