It seems to be a problem with com port drivers I guess.
I have a Compaq Armada, it only have one phisical com port. It had windows 98 and everithing goes fine with this com port, I use several external modems for dial up networking to an ISP and laplink cable for data transfer.
Now that it have Windows ME I can make connections with dial up networking but when it starts to transfer data, there is not transmited or received bytes but any modem hangs up the call.
First I thought it might be the modems driver, but when I tried to use laplink cable to connect these compaq with other computer(no modem, just com port to com port) did the same; the connection has made but when start to tranfer data there is no transmit o receive bytes again and conections remain up.
What makes it more weird is that this compaq have internal modem, this modem is installed on com port 3 (not a phisical port) and it works fine with dial up networking conections to the ISP.
