When I find a web site I like for my kids, I would like to "File-Send-Shortcut to desktop" that page. It's easier for them to get to.It used to work. But now when I click on the shortcut, it says " you are downloading ... Would you like to save or open . . ., it doesn't go to that web page like it used to do.

This is a workaround from microsoft and it works and I just tried it. After you get the web site you want just drag the IE icon from the address bar to the desktop and a short cut for that web page will be deposited there.

Or you can right click in the webpage you want to make shortcut for, and click, create shortcut. An icon will be put on desktop.
