Scrolling mouse

Will an HP mouse--with scroll wheel--work with Windows ME? I've checked Mouse in Control Panel, but see no reference to scroll settings (unlike XP).
Clicking down the scroll wheel does activate a variable speed auto-scroll. It's the manual scrolling which does not work.
Do I need a different driver, or were scrolling mice not available when Windows ME was released?

hello
i've had a scrolling mouse working with ME, but some of the older software (e.g. access 97) doesn't work with it.

As windows ME does not have default drivers for most mice with scroll wheels, you will have to get a copy of HP's drivers for the mouse that works on Windows ME.
