Could someone please help me aol doesnt seem to know. I get(an error has occurred in the script on this page) (line-420) (char-77) error-unterminated string constant
(code-0) (url- http://entertainment.yahoo.com/entertainment/)
i`m running win.me aol 6.0 explorer 5.5 w/updates

Go to start>>settings>>contorl panel>>internet options.
Double click on it to open the applet.
Go to the advanced tab.
Under the Brosing category make sure there is a check mark in "Disable script debugging".Also, since you have downloaded all of the updates....
While in the control panel, double click on add/remove programs.
Take a look in the list for anything called MDM or Machine Debug Manager.
If it is there uninstall it.One more place to look.
Go to start>>run>>msconfig.
Go to the startup tab.
If there is anything called Machine Debug or MDM.exe uncheck it.
Click apply>>ok>>reboot when prompted.

disable script debugging checked,no mdm in add/remove programs,no mdm in msconfig thanks anyway.something else that might help
if i use netscape at the same site i dont get an error.

I just went to the URL you are getting a script error on. In the bottom left of my browser it tells me "Done. But with errors on page."
Someone has done some poor html on that particular webpage and that is why there is an error. There is nothing seriously wrong with your browser or ME... But that does not explain why you cannot turn script debugging off.
I am not familiar with AOL's version of IE. If there are options for the browser, try taking a look at them.
Another thought... Do you have Office 2000 installed? I believe it also installs the Script debugger by default.
Also try unchecking the "Disable script debugging" box in internet options. Applying it. Then checking it again. Sometimes Windows needs to be reminded of what it is supposed to be doing.
