Comment:

I have a 400 Mhz HP computer with a 6GIG hard drive and 64 MB RAM. I have recently upgraded from Windows 98 SE to ME. My problem is that everytime I reboot my computer the is a message saying some scheduled tasks have been missed. Then I try to run the tasks but they run forever and only stop when I press cancel. Then in the log file I get a message saying that the task exited with an exit code of (FFFE). This only happens with scandisk and disk defragmenter. Does anyone have a solution????

Thanks

double click the icon in the system tray
delete all scheduled tasks in the list.
advanced
stop using task scheduler

run scandisk, cleanup, and defrag manually as needed.

I agree with the first part...delete the two tasks causing the problem. Reboot the machine. Set the tasks back up in task scheduler and see if that works.
