I had my scanner (UMAX) for 3 years already. It never gave me a problem until a few days ago when everytime i click on the button to use my scanner, it makes an error (it doesnt say anything) and my screen is just black. Can anyone help, please?

G'day Gilda, do you have updated drivers for it, the original ones might seem to install OK but might not work with ME.

Worth checking out

Gilda...
Try this, shut your computer completely off, unplug the power to your scanner and also unplug the USB cable (if you're using one.)
Now plug everything back in and reboot your computer. I also have a UMAX scanner that is a couple years old and I run into the same problem occasionally and doing the above technique solves the problem.
Hope it works for you too.

Gilda, Why not do a system restore to a time when your scanner was working ? Its worth a try ! Good Luck Nick

I can not get my scanner Prima Scan 2600u to install. I have followed the directions and it gets to the part were it says to plug in the scanner and wait for it to be detected but it never does. Could you send me step by step directions and how will I know that my scanner has been detected.

Prima Scan Colorado 2400p

My friend asked me to fix her scanner but as far as I can see there is no power getting to it at all. I don't know this model all that well but it is similar to the HP model which does not switch on and off, just comes on when plugged in. The problem looks very likely to be the power supply that is at fault.

The strange thing is she says that she does not remember it ever being lit inside or it ever making any noises. I find this hard to believe, but who knows maybe you know differently?

Any ideas where I can locate a replacement power supply for the above model. Any help or email on the subject would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave.
