SCANDISK PROBLEMS

I have problems with Scandisk. When it wants to scan my C:\ partition, Scandisk is working but will never come to an end. It goes to 50% and then back to 0% and so on!
Could have bad sectors. Boot to a floppy with Scandisk on it and do a scan there. If this doesnt work try Norton Disk Doctor (comes with Norton Utilities)

Make sure all unnecessary programs are turned off before running scandisk especially your anti-virus and Msoffice Findfast , to see what is running in the backround hit ctrl+alt+del all at the same time and end the tasks of all programs running except, Explorer and Systray. Next purge all your temp internet files before you do the Scandisk, if you haven't run scandisk in a long time it may very well take hours to run. If the above fails try booting to safe mode and run scandisk then defrag from there. Hope this was of help
