Getting error message stating it cannot run scan disk because a program such as a disk utility has locked this drive. i have tried running it in safemode and dos mode. I get the same message. i have uninstalled almost everything I had on here and nothing seems to be working. Can someone please help? Thanks for your time in advance.

Try closing all running programs but Explorer and Systray.Use Ctrl+Alt+Del and close one by one the programs. There is a litle program called Enditall that does the same work for you. After using scandisk (or defrag)reboot the computer. http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/enditall2.htm Good luck.
