How do you switch off the scandisk at startup?

Another problem I have is that my pc seems to think it's been improperly shut down now & again, so the scandisk thing kicks in and the rest is history.

I'll probably just leave it and press cancel, but I'd like to know how to disable it anyway.

Thanks!

I had the same problem which I solved by dowloading/installing the windows update patch for "large IDE hard drives". It began to happen recently on my ME system that contains a 30GB hard drive. Did you try a windows update? Apparently large hard drives (with large cache) can have cached data currupted, of not completely written back prior to shutdown without this patch.
