Scandisk and Defrag start and stop

Hi, Got a lot of thing running in taskbar ?? Try End it All.. Then Defrag.. Works wonders.. Sorry guys... Its Col and end it All again !!

hello boot into safe mode by doing a reboot and holding down f5 key or f8 depending on computer typewhile computers restarting. than run them from safe mode. have a nice day

There's no reason why Defrag should not work properly in Normal Mode, although many people do run it Safe Mode.
Normal Mode, do CNTRL-ALT-DEL and 'End Task' everything except Systray and Explorer. Then turn off your Screensaver and Defrag should work OK.
If it doesn't, then do as wawadave says and run it in Safe Mode
Thanks everyone. I tried the safe mode but it didn't help however I downloaded Enditall and I can now defrag but slowly. Scandisk still jerks along to two thirds of the way along the gauge and starts over again! I'll wander back and keep trying.
