After a bad shutdown windows me starts to do scandisk and is restarting it self all the time. When i do a regular scandisk its all right. I disabled the option for scandisk after bad shutdown (in the msconfig), but i would like to have this option on. If any one can help.... Thanks.

Had the same problem a few weeks ago, and it was the first sign that the HD was going bad. Last week I had to replace it (it was only 4 months old by the way). I'm not saying that is definitely your problem but seriously consider backing up any important data staright away, because if the disk goes it will be expesive if not impossible to recover.

go to start>>run>>msconfig choose selective startup uncheck everything underneath click apply>>ok>>reboot when prompted.

if it did... go back to msconfig and use process of elimanation to figure out what the problem is... once you have it narrowed down to one specific "check mark" under selective startup, go to the tab that corresponds to the problem group and narrow it down from there.

Summary: Not sure this'll do it,but make sure all your background programs are NOT running...especially screensavers,AV programs. Then go to Start/Run/type msconfig/click on the advanced button, and put a check ...
