Today, I was looking for some files in My Computer, under the C drive. I was in the category Windows/System. I hadn't clicked on any files, just looking for a screen saver I had installed that i wanted to delete. While browsing here, my floppy drive started flashing, like it does when windows starts. It quit after doing that briefly, then I closed out My Computer. Shortly after that, I restarted my computer. I went to start, shutdown, and chose restart. Everything was closed out, or so it seemed to me. I didn't force a shutdown by holding down the power button or pushing ctrl. alt. delete, just did it as usual when choosing restart. Well, the computer closed down and restarted, but when it restarted , it did a scan disk and said it was doing scan disk due to improper shutdown. Could this be indicative of a problem? Anyone ever seen their computer do this?

remove any floppy or cd-rom from the drive.

www.windows-help.net/windowsMe/tip-0102.htmlNote: For the updated Ifsmgr.vxd driver to add the necessary delay during shutdown, it may be necessary to update the registry key. The CacheWriteDelay value specifies the number of milliseconds of required delay.
Start the Registry Editor
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion
On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value Name: CacheWriteDelay
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Radix: Decimal
Value: 2000
Exit RegEdit and restart Windows
